How we contribute to sustainability

Sustainability is who we are

At Rootra, sustainability isn’t an add-on; it’s a part of who we are.

The same care we put into supporting people’s wellbeing extends naturally to how we treat the world around us.

We want Rootra to feel like a breath out, a grounding pause, a moment of returning to yourself - and that feeling starts long before anyone steps onto a mat.

Every choice we make reflects our belief that wellbeing is woven through everything: the way we move, the spaces we gather in, and the communities we nurture.

Our sessions, like Rootra Reset and Rootra Yoga, are designed to be simple and low-waste.

Our approach

Mindful Materials

We make conscious decisions about the items we bring into our space - choosing reusable, long-lasting, or recycled materials wherever possible.

From props and journals to drapes and lighting, we prioritise pieces designed to be kept, cared for, and used again and again.

Low-Waste Sessions

Rootra’s sessions are designed to feel spacious, grounding, and clutter-free.

That simplicity is intentional: minimal printing, no single-use extras, and a focus on practices that create inner calm without creating outer waste.

Community-Centred Choices

At Rootra, sustainability isn’t just about materials- it’s about people.
We prioritise local partnerships, inclusive pricing where possible, and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome.

By choosing to work with independent businesses, makers, and practitioners in East London, we’re investing directly back into the community we serve.

Because when the community thrives, well-being does too.

A growing commitment

Sustainability isn’t a box we tick - it’s something we keep learning and evolving with. As Rootra grows, so will our sustainable practices, guided by what feels meaningful, responsible, and true to our values.

Together with our community and partners like Monier Works, we’re building something that not only supports mental wellbeing, but also treads gently on the world around us.
